Al-Lat (Goddess),   al-Uzza (Power)

Manat (Fate)

The Satanic Verses

Have ye seen Allat and 'Uzza, And another, the third [goddess], Manat?

[Words of Satan:]  These are the exalted intermediaries whose intercession is to be hoped for.

                             --Koran 53: 19-20

Satanic Verses
Muslim scholars admit there are Goddesses in the Koran.

The story is, Satan tricked Mohammed into putting those verses in the Koran. But Allah sent a new revelation allowing Mohammed to leave the verses in but correct the mistake. Which Mohammed did, by calling them quote, "angels whom pagans ignorantly think are goddesses." Because Satan tricked Mohammed into putting Goddess names in the Koran, those verses are called the Satanic Verses - inspired by Satan. Geez. Talk about demonizing anything sacred feminine!

You may remember the novel Satanic Verses by Salmon Rushdie, that got him condemned to die by the Muslim world...
