Blessing and Consecrating Tools
Good for a Rosary, chalice, candle-holder, tarot deck or any object you wish to use for holy service:

*********************************************************

The following consecration is liberally adapted from the Roman Catholic consecration of the gifts at Mass (also called Divine Liturgy by Eastern Catholics). It is Christo-Pagan in nature, and can be used to consecrate any ritual, magikal, or divinatory tool.
Pax Sapientia,
Mark James
Nisut Emeritus, ODM

This consecration can be adapted further to suit your needs. If you want to include holy water in it, that certainly could be done.  One member mentioned wanting to use the water from her Baptism, and that is fine. You can do this either by aspersion (by sprinkling water on the ritual tool) or by immersion (by dunking the tool in the bowl of water). I would recommend aspersion, that way the unblessed tool is not coming in contact with all of your holy water, which may contaminate it with whatever energy may be attached to the unblessed tool.

STEP 1: Hold the tool in your LEFT hand. Speak the following words of blessing over the ritual tool while either making the Sign of the Cross over it with your RIGHT hand, or by aspersing it with holy water in the Sign of the Cross, or with some other ritual tool like incense or whatever your preference may be.

"Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this sign of your power, which Earth has given and human hands have made. It will become for us a vessel for your Spirit."

If you are doing this in a group, the others in the group could reply with the following response:

"Blessed be God forever."

STEP 2: After the Sign of the Cross is made over the ritual tool, it should be elevated for no less than ten seconds, indicating that what once was mundane and unconsecrated, is now otherworldly and set aside for God/dess.

STEP 3: Hold the tool in your RIGHT hand. Speak the following words of blessing over the ritual tool while making the Sign of the Cross over it (again, either with your LEFT hand or through aspersion or some other means).

"Blessed are you, Lady, Goddess of all creation. Through your goodness we have this sign of your love, fruit of your womb and work of human hands. It will become for us a vessel for your Spirit."

If in a group, the others could respond:

"Blessed be Goddess forever."

STEP 4: Once again, the ritual tool should be elevated for no less than ten seconds.

STEP 5: Elevating the ritual tool once more, you should either chant or sing the following:

"Through them, with them, and in them, in the unity of the Great Spirit, your love and power is ours, almighty Godhead, forever and ever."

STEP 6: Bring the ritual tool to your lips, blessing it with a kiss. After this has been done, either you (if you are alone) or the entire group (if you're working in a group) should say:

"Amen."

This simple amen shows your confidence and certainty that the consecration has been done, and that your ritual tool has been set aside for the purpose of the Lord and Lady of Life. The ritual tool is now consecrated, and should be kept only in a consecrated place (like on your altar, or even in a drawer that has also been consecrated, or at the very least in a piece of consecrated cloth).

An Esoteric Kristian Communion Ritual
by Dr. Katia with a bit of help from Debbie Strauser, a member of the Church of the Way

Also called the Sacred Repast, Sacred Meal or Eucharist, this rite can be performed alone, as a group or as a family at the dinner table.

The significance of the bread and wine goes way back to the Old Testament / Hebrew Bible, "Melchizedek, King of Salem, brought out bread and wine, and being a priest of God Most High (El Elyon), he blessed Abram with these words:  Blessed be Abram by God Most High (El Elyon), the creator of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High (El Elyon), who delivered your foes into your hand.  Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything."  Gen 14: 18-20   There are three firsts in these important ancient verses.  1. This is the first written record of bread and wine use, 2. First mention of a "priest of God" who performs rite and gives blessings in God's name, and 3. the first description of tithing, which is giving one tenth of one's earnings to the Church of one's choice.

Items needed:
1. Some kind of Anointing or Essential Oil (Christian bookstores have the good stuff actually made in the Holy Land for around $5)

THOU ART COME UNTO ME NOW…AND I THANK THEE. BE PLEASED TO REMAIN AWHILE LONGER UNTIL THE RITE IS DONE."

Consecrate the bread and wine - Pray the following while holding your hands over the bread and wine:

"And now I humbly request if it please you to Enter this wine, O Lord, the blood of the earth. Enter this bread, O Lord the flesh of the earth. May they become your body and blood as you taught your loved-ones to do in remembrance of thee.

Invoke God the Father
Light a black candle while saying the following prayer, feeling Father God's presence "arrive" while doing so:

"Our Father, who art in heaven, your name is Holy. May your kingdom come and your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us for our mistakes as we forgive those who have abused us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. You have the kingdom, the glory, and the power, forever and ever. Amen."

Invoke God the Mother
Light a white candle while saying the following prayer, feeling Mother God's presence come while doing so:

"Our Mother who art in Earth, hallowed, respected, joyful thy name. Thy holy realm is already come. Thy will awaits us to be done. Give us this day the strength to love, to be the lion and the dove. Forgive us as we tread your flowers, ignoring duties that are ours. Lead us from annihilation, to celebrate all creation. For we share in the life, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen."

Anoint with oil
Acting on behalf of the Magdala, dip your right thumb into the oil. Then draw an equal-bar cross on your forehead with the thumb saying:
"I [Name] am sealed and marked on the forehead as God's own forever. Amen."  (See Rev 14:1)

Cross yourself by making the Sacred Sign of the Cross ( Kabbalistic sign of the cross from Catechumen Lesson 1)

Go to your Internal Temple
Do a deep breathing exercise using the YHVH mantram (in Catechumen Lessons) until you are in a relaxed state. Go to your inner temple and look at the well. Gaze into the well for several moments. Let your mind relax into a state of quietness. Watch and remember what is shown to you in the well. Do any affirmations that are needed at this time as well. Once you are done, return to the present. Wiggle your toes and fingers to ground to the here and now. Write down what you saw in the well, along with any thoughts, feelings, or impressions, in your ritual notebook or prayer journal.

Receive Communion
Take your bit of bread and while partaking of it, remember Yeshua and what he did for us. Take your sip of wine and while partaking of it, remember the blood Yeshua shed for us.

Say a special Prayer
Say an appropriate prayer here, whatever you wish.  This is especially a good idea if you are doing any special work or addressing some specific need.  If you can't find a prayer that's just right then write a new one. Keep a prayer journal or notebook of all your inspired writings.

Close down the Altar
Say a short prayer of thanks to each aspect of the Godhead asking that whatever aspect they mean to you to be eternally lit even though the earthly candle is extinguished. Extinguish each candle as you are saying your prayer for the appropriate member of the Godhead. Here are some examples of meaningful aspects of each member of the Godhead.  Use these, add your own additional significances or meanings, ending up with a prayer that resonates well with you.  Extinguish the candles in the following order.

Mother - Earthly body, Nurturing, Creation
Example Prayer:  Thank you Creatress Mother for your presence here today and in my life.  May the health and strength that you infuse within my earthly body remain eternally lit, even though this candle be extinguished.
Father - Soul, spirit body
Example Prayer:  Thank you Father-God for being with me today and always. I pray the light of my soul that you breathed into existence be eternally lit, even though this candle be extinguished.
Sacred Son, Yeshua - Savior, Anointed one, rejuvenation, leader of the Way
Example Prayer:  Thank you Yeshua, Son of Man, for your presence here today and in my life.  May the Way you show shine always before me, even though this candle be extinguished.
Holy Daughter, Magdalene - love, teaching, wisdom
Example Prayer:  Thank you Magdalene, Daughter of Woman, for being with me today and always.  I pray the light of love and wisdom which you kindled in me remain eternally lit, even though this candle be extinguished.
Amen.  Selah.

CHURCH OF THE WAY

HOLY COMMUNION / EUCHARIST RITE,
By Elda Lantz, Dr. Katia with contributions from others

This Rite is designed so that it can be conducted in any setting whether it be a home church or outdoors. It should be conducted at or around Sunset on Friday evening or around Noon on Sunday. For those who also honor the Sun-surge at noon on Sundays, this Communion rite should be performed just before noon (or just before1 p.m. during daylight savings time) with the Sunsurge ritual coming right after. The Sun-surge rite, short in duration, must coincide with the moment of high noon.

Important Note: You can create a short version of this rite, and can adapt it, personalize it, to suit you and yours.

PREPARATION: This preparation section seems a little long, but after you go thru it several times you will not have to read this and can skip to the Communion Rite.

ROBE: White dress/robe is always appropriate. You might wish to have a white under robe and then an outer robe of a color representative of the season. There is much room for flexibility here. You should wear whatever ceremonial attire appeals to you as your personal mode of presenting yourself to Deity.

ALTAR SET-UP:

Your altarcloth should be representative of the season, or Red with a white lace overlay. Red and gold are the colors of ancient Kristianity, so adding gold is appropriate, too.

Fresh flowers are great.

Pictures of Yeshua and Magdala would be excellent, as would any representations (figurines, icons, pictures) of God-the-Mother and God-the-Father. Keep in mind the Balance between Sacred Masculine and Sacred Feminine when you choose your Deity symbols.

Two or three candles, but at least two (see Blessing of Candles section below for color suggestions).

Incense (appropriate to the season, your favorite form of the Deity, or to your current focus / preference)

Communion Wine or grapejuice.

Chalice or goblet.

Bread, wafers, wheat-thins on a plate, in a basket, or other special container, hereinafter called the breadplate, covered with a white breadcloth.

CONSECRATING THE CHALICE before pouring the wine into it: If you have a chalice, that's wonderful. Any goblet or beautiful glass will do, however. Consecrate your (empty) chalice thus: Lift it up in the air over your altar using both hands and say, Bless this chalice, O Lord and Lady, to be used in your service. May it be a symbol of the Grail and worthy container of Krist's Holy Blood. Now pour the wine in.

CONSECRATING THE BREADPLATE As you place the bread on the breadplate, say: Bless this plate/basket/dish O Lord and Lady, to be used in your service. May it be a symbol of your constant providing for us / me. Now cover the bread with the breadcloth.

BLESSING THE CANDLES

The Sacred Feminine candle.

It can be any color except white or gold. If you prefer, you may call this your Mary Magdala candle, or let it represent the Sacred Feminine in all Her forms as She moves throughout the Universe. If you do have it represent the Magdala, it should be red or green in color.

Hold your right hand over the candle and say, Sanctify this candle, O Lady to be used in your service. Choose it and me to be a symbol of your holy light in this world, illuminating the shadows, enlightening all minds. Now light the candle.

The Sacred Masculine Candle.

You can make this a Krist candle, or a candle representing the entire Sacred Masculine force that moves throughout the universe. It should be gold or yellow in color if it represents Krist, or for Sacred Masculine, any color (gold is fine) except black.

Hold your right hand over the candle and say, Sanctify this candle, O Lord to be used in your service. Choose it and me to be a symbol of your holy light in this world, illuminating all hearts and inner temples.

Optional Third Candle. A white candle of the Sacred Union:

Light the candle first and then hold your arms in the air around it as if embracing a beachball and say, Sanctify this candle, O Lord and Lady to be used in your service. May it be a symbol of your joined light burning in my heart, my soul, my mind. (substitute "our hearts, our souls, our minds," if others are present)

THE CREED OF THE CHURCH OF THE WAY

*I believe in One Godhead of Sacred Masculine and Sacred Feminine
by which all things, seen and unseen, came into being.

*I believe in the Incarnation of the Divine Son, Yeshua, Logos,
  begotten by the Father and born of the Mother;
Light of Light, true God of true God.

*I believe in Mary Theotokos, God-Bearer, who was the Divine Mother Incarnate.

*I believe in Pneuma, the Holy Spirit and Life-Giver;
the Power, the Presence, Wisdom and Breath of Deity
working in all worlds of matter, mind, and spirit.

*I believe in Mary Magdala, an incarnation of the Divine Feminine
  who did anoint the Son of Man to seal his divine kingship;
to prepare Him for His death, descent into Hell and Resurrection.

*For Yeshua and His Bride the Magdala did come in the flesh,
were wed, and together showed us The Way to freedom from suffering,
to gnosis, to balance and union with our Source.

*I acknowledge their continued presence among us.
They are co-Redeemers in joint priest- and priestess- hood leading all
back into kinship with the Creative Godhead.

*I embrace their guidance, embody that compassion,
and work for the awareness of All
I AM that awakening

  Amen

Thou Art come unto me now,
You are with me now,
As you have always been,
And always will be
I need only to surrender.

[Hold your hands over the bread and wine]

Lord and Lady,
I humbly request that if it please you,
Enter this wine, O Lord and Lady, the blood of the earth,
Enter this bread, O Lord and Lady, the flesh of the earth.
As you entered into the Sacred Marriage

May I take this Holy Communion in Remembrance of you.

PARTAKING OF THE GIFTS, Option 1
[Dip the bread into the wine and then as you place it in your mouth, hear the voice of Yeshua say to you:]

I say unto you eat of my flesh and drink of my blood, do this in remembrance of me.

[Hear the voice of Mary Magdalene say to you:]

Receive the body and blood of Krist, do this in remembrance of His Sacrifice.

PARTAKING OF THE GIFTS, Option 2:

Instead of dipping the bread into the wine, do them one at a time. First, lift the chalice and say, "Divine Source of All, your presence fills creation, forming the fruit of the vine." Now drink. All present with you may have their own chalices / goblets / glasses lifted also while you say the prayer and then you all drink at the same time, or you may pass around the single chalice.

Now go to the bread. It should be lifted up in the air, still on the plate. Remove the breadcloth and say, "Divine Source of All, your presence fills creation, bringing forth bread from the earth." Pass around the bread, and eat. If you are using a loaf of some kind, you should tear (never use a blade!) pieces of the bread and pass around for eating. Everyone gets a piece and then eats at once. As you eat the bread be mindful that it is a symbol of the Divine taking the flesh (incarnating) as one of us, and of the spiritual (and physical) gifts given to us daily. Leftover bread should be eaten during a meal or put out for nature, the birds, etc., but never thrown away. Dipping the bread in honey just before eating is an ancient custom used by Jews and early Kristians on Friday nights (and later by Kristians on Sunday afternoons). You can then eat a regular sit-down meal, called the Sacred Meal because it is an extension of the Communion Rite, and when finished, say the following closing prayer and hymn / chant.

OFFERING OF GRATITUDE

Thank you Lord Yeshua and Lady Magdala for witnessing this Rite.

Thank you Saints and Angels who might also be present at this honoring of the Sacred Union.

Thank you to all who participated in this Rite.

Go if you must, Stay if you will.
