day if it happens to fall on a Sunday)
Second Sunday of Advent | Third Sunday
of Advent
Today is the Second Sunday of Advent where Catholics (and some esoterists) light the second purple candle in their advent wreath. I got out my Daily Roman Missal and read the entry for 2nd Sun. of Advent. I then rewrote it (adapted it) adding in some Mother-Creatrix and jazz... I was adapting with my kids and teenagers in mind, so please excuse the simplistic language used. -- Dec. 4, 2005.
OPENING PRAYER
God of Mercy, Goddess of Power
Open our minds and hearts to welcome mode
Get rid of the things that block us from gladly taking in the Kristos
child
So that we may share his Mother Sophia's mystery wisdom,
And become one with Him, Her and You
When he comes in quiet glory,
For he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Mother,
One Godhead, Divine Family, for ever and ever.
Father-Mother of the Kosmos
The day draws near when the glory of your Son will make radiant the dark
night of the waiting world.
May the seductive lure of greed not block us from the happy feeling we get
when we look for him instead of material stuff.
May the darkness not blind us, to the the vision of Sophia which fills the
minds of those who find Her son.
We ask this in the name of Iesous the Lord.

PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS
Lord, we are nothing without you, because you sustain us with your
Will.
Lady, we are nothing without you, because you sustain us with your
Power.
Receive our prayers and offerings.
We ask this thru Kristos and Maria, our earthly teachers
PREFACE OF ADVENT I, THE TWO COMINGS OF
KRIST
Father-Mother, all-powerful and ever-living Creators and Sustainers
We do well to always and everywhere give you gratitude
Thru Kristos and Maria our earthly Lord and Lady
When they humbled themselves to come among us as a man and a woman, they
fulfilled the plan you formed long ago and opened for us the gate that leads
to you.
Now we watch for the day,
Working toward the Union with you he taught us to seek, arriving when he
comes again in glory and you return to restore heaven on earth.
And so, with all the choirs of angels, we proclaim your glory and join in
the their unending hymn of praise:
Holy, Holy, Holy One... (in Greek, Agios, Agios, Agios...).
Because of the line "With Angelic hosts proclaim...", the songs Angels we have Heard on High or Hark the Herald Angels, are good to hum or sing as an ending...
COMMUNION ANTIPHON
Latin: Ierusalem, surge et sta in excelso, et vide iucunditatem, quae veniet
tibi a Deo tuo
Rise up, Jerusalem (or say Chosen Ones), stand on the heights, and see the
joy that is coming to you directly from the Divine.
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
Father-Mother, you give us food from the Kosmos (keep in mind all our food
and all the material world for that matter comes from stardust once out in
the cosmos)
Now that we share in this mystery,
may we learn to judge wisely the material things all around us
and to not take for granted the spiritual things of
Kosmos
Grant this thru Kristos, our Anointed Lord.

The third Sunday of Advent is the one when the pink candle gets lit. The other three Sundays use purple candles. Here is an esoteric version of the official Catholic prayers for this day.

Lord Creator, Lady Creatrix
May we, your people,
who look forward to the birthday of the Anointed One,
feel the thrill of union
and celebrate that event with warmth and an attitude of gratitude.
We ask this in the name of Iesous the Lord, your son...

Father-Mother of our Lord & Lady,
ever faithful to your commitments
and ever intimate with your Bride, with us your Church:
the earth excitedly hopes for the Chosen One's coming
and looks forward with longing
to his return at the end of time.
Prepare our hearts and minds, removing any depression or negativity
that hinders us from feeling the joy-thrill and hope
which his presence will bestow,
for he is Lord for ever and ever.
